Learn Vietnamese — reconnect with your roots
KIRAORA is a language app made for families with Vietnamese roots all over the world. Maybe you understand your grandparents but cannot answer them. Maybe you want your children to keep the language of home, or you simply love Vietnam and want to speak with people there. KIRAORA teaches Vietnamese step by step, with every explanation and every button in clear English.
Lessons are short — about 8 to 10 minutes — and each one trains six skills: listening, speaking, reading, writing, grammar and vocabulary. A little every day works better than one long session a week, so the app is built around a daily habit.
Why learn with KIRAORA
- A real path, not random words. The Vietnamese course follows what children in Vietnam learn at school, from the first letters and tones in Level 1 to real stories and poems in Level 6. You always see your level, your chapter and the chapter test ahead.
- Hear native audio and speak back. Every sentence can be played aloud. In the Speaking and Reading aloud parts, the app listens and tells you whether your sentence was right, almost right or needs another try.
- Skip what you already know. Heritage speakers often understand more than they think. Take the end-of-chapter test; pass it and you move straight on to the next chapter.
- A friendly bee keeps you company. KIRAORA the bee greets you, gives a hint when you make a mistake and celebrates when you finish. Daily streaks, XP, weekly challenges and a leaderboard help you keep going.
How a lesson works
Every lesson comes in two small parts. Discovery: listen, learn new words with pictures, follow a short dialogue and say it yourself. Practice: match pairs, unscramble letters, write sentences, do a grammar exercise and read aloud. Each chapter ends with a review and a test.
Vietnamese has six tones and its own letters such as ă, â, đ, ơ and ư. KIRAORA introduces them slowly, with pictures and audio, so that reading and writing come naturally. Would you rather learn French? The course «Journey to Paris» takes English speakers from the very first greetings (Pré-A1) to level A2.
Courses for English speakers
| Learn | Course | Levels | Chapters | Lessons |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Vietnamese | Path 1: Reconnect with Home | Level 1–6 | 101 | 2,150 |
| French | Path 1: Journey to Paris | Pré-A1–A2 | 25 | 614 |
Chapter and lesson counts are those of the current version; new levels are added regularly.
Break time and piano
Finishing a lesson earns you a ticket for «Break time»: play tic-tac-toe, Connect Four, chess or a jigsaw puzzle against the bee, or invite a friend. The «Piano» tab lets you play more than thirty well-known tunes from sheet music. You can also choose one of fifteen colour themes, including dark themes that are easy on the eyes in the evening.
Free and Premium
You can start for free with 10 bees a day — each lesson uses one, and bees come back during the day. The Premium and Family plans (up to 6 people) unlock unlimited lessons with no ads, and the yearly plans include a 7-day free trial. Prices are shown in the app, in your store’s currency.
Frequently asked questions
Is KIRAORA free?
Yes. Create an account and learn for free with 10 bees a day (one per lesson). For unlimited lessons without ads, you can upgrade to Premium inside the app.
I understand some Vietnamese but cannot speak it. Is KIRAORA for me?
Yes — many of our learners grew up hearing Vietnamese at home. Start at Level 1 to fix the letters and tones, and use the chapter tests to move faster through what you already know.
Which devices can I use?
Any web browser at www.kiraora.com, Android phones, and iPhone or iPad. Your progress is saved to your account, so you can switch devices and carry on where you stopped.
How long should I study each day?
One lesson takes about 8 to 10 minutes. You can set a daily goal of 10, 20, 30 or 50 XP; a short lesson every day beats a long one once a week.
Can my whole family learn together?
Yes. The Family plan covers up to 6 people, each with their own profile and progress. KIRAORA is for learners aged 13 and over.
